Hyper-V Dynamic Memory

"One of the new technologies introduced in Service Pack 1 for Hyper-V 2008 R2 was “Dynamic Memory”. This allows Hyper-V to adjust the amount of RAM allocated to its virtual machines based on the demands generated by the VMs against the demands of other VMs and within total available physical memory. It’s often compared to VMWare’s memory overcommit technology. Dynamic memory can be leveraged to accomplish much the same outcome as memory overcommit, but it is not the same thing. There is a great variance in the mechanics of hypervisor memory management techniques. This posting will examine some of them in detail."
